Bookeye ® 4 Office combines the ease of use of a self service kiosk model with the requirements of a modern, integrated departmental book scanner / book copier.
Departmental scanners require:
An essential feature of a departmental scanner is the reliable identification of each user. The Bookeye ® 4 Office sets new standards in its class as a secure, shared departmental device.
The integrated fingerprint sensor allows reliable identification of users and, consequently, the correct assignment of workflow and consistent logging of the system processes.
Therefore, incorrect or unauthorized use can be largely excluded, providing security at the departmental level and boosting the efficiency of your office.
By defining users and user groups, the scanner´s interface can be personalized and the processes controlled. Users see only the functions that they need. In this way, you can address specific requirements and customize the user interface (i.e. when scanning delivery notes, require the entry of specific data like customer number, document type, shipping number, etc.) while defining the underlying workflow (dynamic target directories, multiple routing, etc). The user only has to ensure that he gets a clean scan, the scanner will do the rest of the work.
Currently, Bookeye® 4 Office features a certified EMC2 interface and a Saperion interface is available.
Not your DMS system? No problem, just contact us.

Bookeye ® 4 Kiosk was designed specifically as a self service book scanner or self service book copier. A casual user, from any walk of life, can quickly and easily operate this device.
In libraries, archives and other public institutions, the Bookeye® 4 Kiosk is often found as an integral part of the infrastructure. Through the freely configurable touchscreen, the user interface of the scanner can be precisely matched to the requirements of the customers (and to their corporate identity).
The unique book cradle solution allows users to digitize bound documents at an optical resolution of 400 dpi and A2+ in size, by either lying them flat on the scanning bed or in the V-cradle, at an angle of 120 degrees.
The integrated 19 inch preview monitor allows the operator to control image quality and make some modifications on the fly. Scanned images can be output to USB, eMail, network, printer or on a mobile device like an iPad or Anrdoid tablet.
Scan2Pad enables wireless conecction of the Bookeye ® 4 Kiosk directly to mobile devices like iPads and Android tablets. The book scanner can be operated directly from your iPad or tablets and the scanned images are available immediately on the mobile device for further processing and storage. With Bookeye ® 4 Kiosk and Scan2Pad, data transferred are secured via WPA2 encryption.
Scan2Pad uses the extensive functionality of the Bookeye® 4 Kiosk scanner. This includes creation of PDF files, automatic size recognition of the source document, color, grayscale and black and white scanning and of course, the well known high quality image results.
Each document is stored immediately after scanning in the Scan2Pad app. This ensures that all images are available without connection to the scanner at any time
The Bookeye® 4 Kiosk copier has an integrated billing module. This means that for all applications that do not have an existing card or billing system, Bookeye® 4 Kiosk can take over the billing itself. Configurable invoice printing and journalling are standard functions in the Bookeye® 4 Kiosk as well as the remote locking / unlocking of the system.
For applications that do have an existing card or billing system, the Bookeye® 4 Kiosk integrates with its billing interface. Examples of these kinds of billing systems include Schomäcker, Cartardis, Höhr or InterCard. For kiosk systems that can be operated offline, there is also the possibility of connecting a coin operation device.

Without being loaded with a lot of costly, unnecessary "features", the Bookeye ® 4 Basic is still a full-fledged book scanner or book copier, ready for use anywhere where grayscale is enough.
Equipped with a standard scanning application, Bookeye® 4 Basic scans documents, such as magazines, files, folders, bound documents, contracts, and accounting ledgers at an optical resolution of 400 dpi at high speeds.
The clearly structured menus on the touchscreen guide the user intuitively through the operation of the scanner. Scanned images can be stored directly on the device to a USB flash drive or sent via eMail. Uploads to an FTP server, printing to any network or connected printer and saving the images to network drives are also standard Bookeye®4 Basic functions.
If scanner requirements become more demanding over time, the Bookeye® 4 Basic can be quickly and easily upgraded. This protects your investment while allowing you to add functionality, like software options or interfacing with BatchScanWizard or other capturing clients.
In the Functions & Features section, you can see a graphic representation of the growth path.

An innovative design and the experience of over 15 years in the manufacturing of overhead book scanners come together, making this family of products the right choice for your scanning needs.
Bookeye® 4, the newest member of the Bookeye® family of overhead book scanners, is available in the versions Basic, Kiosk, Office and Production, all of which are ideal for scanning formats A2 and slightly larger. The Basic, Kiosk, Office and Professional versions all include feature sets which were defined according to customer requirements.
Bookeye® 4 Basic is our cost effective entry level model, scanning 400dpi in grayscale.
Bookeye® 4 Kiosk is recommended for self service applications in public environments - for the occasional user who wants a quick and uncomplicated digital copy.
Bookeye® 4 Office can be implemented as a shared departmental scanner. The fingerprint authentication function enables complex workflows.
Bookeye® 4 Professional is ideal for both large and small digitization projects, Using the capturing software BatchScanWizard (BSW), Bookeye® 4 Professional delivers brilliant scans of double sided A4 documents in less than 3.5 seconds in 600 optical dpi resolution. An optional TWAIN driver integrates the Bookeye® 4 Professional with any capturing software on the market.
All Bookeye® 4 models are equipped with a V-shaped book cradle, a built in touchscreen and a 19 inch preview monitor to control the scanned images. The integrated computer with a fast GBit network connection enables using the Bookeye® 4 as a standalone unit or an integrated part of any existing infrastructure -- simple and straightforward.
The integrated V-cradle can be locked at a 120 degree angle. Source documents can be scanned in folder mode, either lying flat or in the more gentle V-cradle position for highly sensitive historical books and other source documents. as can be digitized for example in the folder mode. The V-shaped book cradle reduces the risk of damage to the spine and binding, making archiving and digitization a less invasive process.
The innovative features of the Bookeye® 4 V2, its functionality and also the competitive price establish the Bookeye® 4 as a universal book scanner and book copier for a large user group from libraries, archives and the private sector.
The Scan2Net® technological platform forms the basis of all Bookeye® book scannersand WideTEK® large format scanners. Scan2Net® eliminates the need for proprietary drivers and interface cards and uses what is currently fastest, open connection to PC-based systems: TCP / IP over Ethernet.
Scan2Net® – the firmware kernel on all Image Access scanners- is compatible with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Unix and all Web browsers like Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome and Firefox.
The numerous new features of HTML5 markup language, which is already implemented in most browsers, further extend the capabilities of the scanners.
A 64 bit Linux-based, virus protected operating system enables faster internal processing of the image data and optimizes the scanning process.
The latest generation of Intel processors make Scan2Net devices highly energy efficient. Thanks to the 4 GB of RAM, very large volumes of data can be processed at remarkable speeds and virtually unlimited job sizes are possible.
The Bookeye® brand of overhead book scanners from Image Access has been a synonym worldwide for gentle and protective digitization of bound and stapled documents in large and smaller formats over the past 18 years.
The first generation of Bookeye® book scanners was developed in 1995, a grayscale system for documents up to A3 format. A year later, you could already scan documents in the A2+ format.
This was followed by the models Bookeye® 2 and Bookeye® 2 plus, which were built between 2000 and 2011. The Bookeye® 2 was the first color book scanner from Image Access and with over 2,500 successful installations around the globe.
Bookeye® 2 was available in various different versions: up to A1+ size, with reproduction lighting, automatic book cradle and glass plate, depending on the requirements the customer had. From the beginning, all Bookeye® 2 book scanners had low emission lamps.
Eight years of experience with Bookeye® 1 and Bookeye®2 in library and archive environments and the rapidly growing installation base, a third Bookeye® book scanner was developed in 2004. With this system, Image Access addressed the ever increasing demands from the market to satisfy requirements for mass digitization projects, which depend on stability, productivity and high image quality. The Bookeye® 3 family of book scanners was born - digitizing documents up to A1+ in size and with 600 dpi optical resolution, distinguished by an integrated, automatic book cradle with an optional glass plate and a completely revised illumination system which featured UV- and IR-free LED lamps.
Customers appreciated the universal applicability of the Bookeye® 3 and the excellent quality of the scan results. A perfect example of the unique and universal qualities of the the Bookeye® 3 was the implementation of over 90 Bookeye® 3 book scanners in the Japanese Parliamentary Library, in which not only the highest quality scanning results were required but also that the book scanners are tough enough to withstand 24/7 operation.
At CeBIT 2010, the Bookeye® 4 product family was launched. Once again, all the experience and requirements of what had grown to over 4,000 installations were compiled and implemented into a completely new book scanner concept. The attributes that set Bookeye apart from other book scanners on the market remained -- high productivity and top quality of the scanner, scanning documents up to A1+ at 600 optical dpi and a level of usability so simple that it could be implemented as a self service device.
New and unique to the Bookeye® 4 book scanner family is the integrated V shaped cradle that allows users to scan documents lying flat, as well as originals opened in the 120 degree V shaped cradle for maximum protection to the document´s spine.
Controls such as a large color WVGA touchscreen, trigger buttons on the scanning area or a large preview monitor, attached ergonomically optimized at the rear of the scanner, round out the brilliant technical features of the Bookeye® 4.
All Bookeye® book scanners are CE, UL, cUL, WEEE, RoHS and Energy Star compliant.
